We design new products and systems, from everyday items like trailers and trays/canopies to not-so-everyday items such as custom welding positioners and bomb boxes. We use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create detailed fabrication drawings.

When analysing mechanical systems, we ensure they meet safety standards, performance requirements, and reliability. This includes running simulations, conducting stress tests, and evaluating materials.

Quantech Design can also oversee the production process, ensuring that designs are translated into functional products and that any improvements/changes that are found during the production process can be implemented into the design.

At Quantech Design, one of the key problems we solve is helping turn innovative ideas into reality. Q: What are one of the trickiest issues or most complicated problems you’ve recently solved for a client?

In the fast-paced world of engineering, it’s not uncommon to face intricate challenges—especially when collaborating on large projects involving multiple stakeholders. At Quantech Design, we like to think no job is too difficult to handle. However, coordinating efforts between different companies, teams, and specialists can pose a significant challenge. The complexity of tying up all the loose ends, aligning goals, and ensuring smooth communication across the board is often the hardest part.

Thankfully, Quantech Design employs a number of strategies to reduce the risks that come with complex projects. Our team utilises powerful engineering and management software, such as Excel and SolidWorks and CAD, to streamline workflows, enhance collaboration, and ensure that no details slip through the cracks. These tools help us visualize, simulate, and organise tasks, ensuring that delays are minimised and productivity is maximised.

Q: What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work, I like to keep myself busy with a variety of activities. Lately, I’ve been getting into drone flying, which has been a fun way to explore technology from a different perspective and sharpen my skills with aerial manoeuvring and photography. I’ve also recently had the unique experience of driving a tank (Fabian’s tank specifically), which has been both exhilarating and a great way to unwind in a completely different environment from the day-to-day engineering world.

On top of that, I’ve been helping Fabian, with his car projects. It has been rewarding to combine my passion for mechanics and engineering with hands-on work. These activities give me a great balance between the technical work I do professionally and an understanding of the physical effort required in fabrication/modification as well as allow me to become more acquainted with physical tools and techniques.
